Jed Dearing – Franklinton – Day Two

Enjoyed a different dinner than normal  at St. John’s His Place service tonight. A church from Powell prepared the meal for us and our 100 friends that joined in. I got to share the meal with a friend from the neighborhood, James. We enjoyed a pasta and sausage dish, garlic bread, coffee, and fruit, but had to wait awhile until the salad was delivered. I was most impressed with the 11 yr old sitting at our table who devoured an entire plate of just greens once the salad made its way over to us. James quickly took to the ethos of the project, really enjoyed the design on the plates, and telling the others around about the project and that the plates we were eating off of were handmade. It was fun conversing with middle schoolers about why I was doing the project and sharing the meal with James, although one 6th grader claimed he could make a better leather carrying case. 🙂
