Julie – German Village – Meal 3

Whew. That’s all I have to say about this week.

I like to think about things in balance with their opposites, and today was meant to contrast the rest of the week. After so much celebration, commotion, and straight-up work, it was time for a quiet day. My husband, Justin, and I came home from work and laid around for a while, talking about our day and playing with our dog. Then while he napped, I went to the gym for a good schwitz. Afterward, he helped clean up the rest of the Birthday Party Aftermath in our apartment and I made dinner. We were being so restful that we did not even really celebrate Chinese New Year.. it was more of a subtle nod to the day. I whipped up some beef and veggie stir-fry with brown rice and we ate with the chopsticks we received as a wedding gift. My best friend is Japanese and her grandmother gave us two pairs of chopsticks, which symbolize the man and the woman (“man” being the taller, green tipped pair, and “woman” being the shorter, red tipped pair). So as man and woman, we curled up on the couch with the dog and a quilt, munched, and watched Netflix. Ahh 🙂
