Jeni Hansen Gard – Old North Columbus – Day 4

Today I had the pleasure of sharing a meal with two of my very best friends Lindsay Scypta and Gunyoung Kim. These girls have been a significant part of my life for the past three years. We have been a support system for each other during these difficult graduate school years. Lindsay and Gunyoung both traveled back to Columbus this weekend for the opening reception for the exhibition component of this project. We spent the day together enjoying each other’s company, laughing, and visiting almost every grocery store in the city. We made it home later in the evening and we helped Gunyoung in making my very favorite Korean dish bulgogi. We enjoyed a relaxing evening with great conversation and in those moments over dinner it seemed as though no time at all had passed between everyone’s graduation. The evening ended with Lindsay asking both Gunyoung and I to stand up for her on her wedding day this coming October it was a beautiful moment.

I’ve been meaning to reply to this post! I saw it when you first posted it but didn’t have the chance to sit down and write the comment I’ve been thinking over and over: Congratulations to your best friend!!! And so happy you got to see your closest friends for this MFA project. That is wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. 🙂 Hope they had safe travels.
