Jeni Hansen Gard

Today I had the pleasure of sharing a meal with Jessie and Sa’dia these two ladies are both first year graduate students in the MFA program at Ohio State. We each brought our own lunch and we met on campus. We shared the meal outside the Hopkins Hall Gallery on the main floor of the building. We talked about our hometowns, the transition to Columbus, and about Maymester (classes offered in May). They girls are both going to Berlin for a study abroad film course and I am going to be in Denmark for an artist residency. This led to conversation around travel and the high cost of plane tickets.
Jessie and Sa’dia started an MFA Studio Blog where they interview and publish blog posts about the artists currently studying in the MFA program. A really great idea I think- to preserve what is happening in the moments of graduate school. I met them both last week for a studio visit for the blog!
