I had a relaxing afternoon lunch with Britny a fellow graduate student on campus at Heirloom Cafe. She is also a ceramic artist and we have studios across the hall from each other. Even though across the hall is very close in proximity the graduate students are all focused on their independent research. We don’t make time often enough to slow down from our busy lives to enjoy time together outside the studio. Since it is spring break and classes are not in session school is a peaceful place and I was able to arrange to have lunch with a few friends from school. Today Britny and I had a early lunch on campus. I had the roasted beet salad (my personal favorite) and Britny had the quinoa salad (also fantastic). We had a really nice time talking about graduate school, our plans post-graduate school and, our excitement over (NCECA) the national ceramic conference next week in Providence, RI.
