Jeni Hansen Gard – Old North Columbus – Day 20

Jeni Hansen Gard

Ellice came over late in the evening for a rice cake baking session! I taught her a recipe (see below) that was passed to me from my former roommate and best friend Gunyoung. We shared an honest conversation where we opened up to each other. It was in those moments that I felt a ‘realness’ in life. Life is difficult and challenging but we both have a passion for life to make a different in what we do.

Gunyoung’s Rice Cakes
sweet rice flour 1box
milk 2 1/2
egg 1
salt 1/2 t
baking soda 1/2t
baking powder 1/4 t
sugar 1/3 + more if you want
+ nuts and beans
1 package cooked chesnuts
and ½ cup beans soaked over night

spray oil on the pan (use 2 silicon baking pans)
mix all together and bake at 350 degrees 50 minuets until top is brown
